1. Who are your favorite designers currently?
Ugh, this is like picking a favorite child. I’m forever a Saint Laurent girl, but lately I’ve been loving it paired against clean, tailored silhouettes from Toteme, Sablyn, Khaite, Victoria Beckham, and Ralph Lauren. I also have been really enjoying Loewe and how it’s evolved in the last decade or so from the fresh path Jonathan Anderson set it on.
2. How would you describe your style?
Texas rooted ease, meets timeless elegance, always with an unexpected twist or a bit of edge.
3. What inspires you most about fashion?
I get such a thrill from seeing what’s coming each season and then finding a way to recreate it in ways that are personal to me but still on trend with secondhand pieces. It feels special that way because I can put my own unique spin on it and it’s better for the earth and my bank account!
4. How often do you clean out your closet?
Constantly. I do quarterly assessments at a minimum and purge anything that doesn’t feel aligned with my creative vision for the season. It’s fun to pass on a beautiful piece and allow someone else to get excited about how to incorporate it into their personal style. It feels like peak girlhood to me in some small way- like we are all getting to share a closet.
5. What are you currently coveting?
I always keep a running list of what pieces I want to add to my wardrobe! For Fall I really want to add some Organza to my closet for an unexpected pop against fall textures like wool, cashmere, suede, and thick cotton denim. I missed out on the most insane Khaite organza button down at Moss a few months ano and it still haunts my dreams.
I’ve also been super into cashew suede and leather as a neutral colorway to pair back to recently. It gives the usual black, grey, camel, taupe, and chocolate accessories a fresh take. I’m on the hunt for a leather or suede jacket and the perfect ankle boots and slouchy bag in this color to pair back to vintage Levi’s.
Finally, I’m dying for a pair of flat GG sling backs to give neutral outfits on casual days a little bit of interest.
